FAQ
What is Scalp Micro Pigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation is an innovative, non-surgical hair loss solution that replicates the
appearance of your own natural hair follicles. CALVA practitioners apply a cosmetic pigmentaion (ink) to
the scalp with micro-fine needles to create thousands of tiny impressions, restoring the appearance of
hair.
Who is a candidate for Scalp Micropigmentation?
Men and women wanting the appearance of added hair density
People with shaved heads that desire hairline definition
Alopecia sufferers
Those who want to camouflage burns, scars or birthmarks
Non-candidates for hair transplantation
How much does Scalp Micropigmentation Costs?
Based on the amount of hair loss, typically the price ranges from $2,500 to $4,000. We offer a free
consultation and provide a personalized price quote based on your needs.
How many treatments should I expect?
To create the most natural appearance possible, on average, clients receive 2 to 3 (3 if needed)
treatments spaced out from 10 to 14 days between each session.
Does it hurt?
Before the procedure, your SMP practitioner may apply a topical numbing agent to your scalp. That said,
it’s good to keep in mind that there may still be some discomfort. However, how much discomfort
largely depends on your pain tolerance.
How long does Scalp Micropigmentation take?
Most clients can expect roughly between 2-4 hours per session depending on your degree of hair loss
or scarring. Some clients may request or require a third session to complete their treatment.
How long do the results last?
After completion of your treatment, a client should expect the strength of the color to last up to 4 to 6
years. Over time, the procedure will gradually lighten. When this occurs, a brief “touch up” session
may be needed to restore any fading.
